Using DPI-On-The-Fly® Software 2.5 with a Macintosh Display Card 8•24 This section explains how to use DPI-On-The-Fly Software with a Macintosh using a Mac Display Card 8•24 installed. Please follow along to learn how the software operates. 1. After restarting your Macintosh computer upon installing the software, select the "Monitors Control Panel Device". This can also be done by double clicking on the DPI-On-The-Fly software icon in the Control Panels folder. 2. Select "Options". This will open the DPI-On-The-Fly software dialog box. 3. Next, select the NEC MultiSync FG, FGe, or PG display product connected to your Mac Display Card 8•24. Note: The 15" NEC MultiSync® 3FG™ color monitor, only offered in Europe, and the MultiSync 3PG do not support 832x624 and 1152x870 display modes. The 15" NEC MultiSync® 3FGx™, 3FGe™, 4FG™, 4FGe™ and 17" 5FGe™ monitors do not support 1152x870 display mode. 4. After you have selected the MultiSync display product connected to you Mac Display Card 8•24, you are know ready to select a new display mode or resolution. You can choose between 1152x870, 832x624, and 640x480. Not all the resolutions listed are supported by all NEC MultiSync products. Please refer to your monitor user's manual. 5. To select a display mode, simply position the pointer over the resolution in the display mode list. This is located in the middle section of the dialog box. Now select OK. The screen will fade out and back in to the new resolution instantaneously. This is called "Switching-On-the-Fly"! 6. To switch display modes again, simply select a method of activating DPI-On-The-Fly Software described in steps 1 and 2. Make your new display mode selection and select OK. Watch the video fade out and back into the new resolution. Selection of new display modes can be done as many times as desired without restarting your Macintosh. Display mode changes can be made while in an application. Open windows and icons on the screen will be repositioned in the most optimal way. If you have decided not to make a new display mode change while in the DPI-On-The-Fly software dialog box, just select "Cancel".
